That doesn't mean that building a hard real time system with Python is not possible. Of course this depends a lot on the particular application.<br /><br />As long as we can get acceptably low latency, we can continue to use Python. The use of hardware to guarantee that things happen within a certain time frame (else an alarm is triggered) make the system deterministic, for our purposes.Simon Wittberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02730025645144151014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8935780327334775165.post-52674493736157575542009-07-10T17:40:12.858+08:002009-07-10T17:40:12.858+08:00That sounds cool! BTW, were you able to go anywhere with the idea of using python for Hard Real time which you mentioned in one of your previous posts ...some time back, I guess.Swapnil Talekarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05178108786398629110noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8935780327334775165.post-6401898518200765982009-07-10T14:47:34.335+08:002009-07-10T14:47:34.335+08:00Hey Swapnil.

The communication code is written in C and uses realtime techniques to minimize latency. In the event that our code does not respond to an event quickly enough, a hardware device will trip and halt the system in an alarm state.Simon Wittberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02730025645144151014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8935780327334775165.post-50922813575205621022009-07-10T14:17:44.261+08:002009-07-10T14:17:44.261+08:00That's really quite impressive.
